Prayers for my son...

Just got off the phone with my son. Alex attends Holy Trinity Seminary in Texas, where he is finishing up his first year. It's been a year of adjustment for him...being in a seminary for the first time! He says that he is still confident in his decision and just prays that things will go as planned. He is very homesick for NY and that is a BIG part of his decision to move back to NY and switch seminaries in the Fall. He's been in Texas for 5 years now, as he graduated this past May from Southwestern University...and now this year at seminary. I'm very pleased that he is switching, but can't help but feel that he may be switching for me because my health has been not so well the last several months. I really want the move to be for the right reasons! I know he IS homesick for NY and misses his family/friends here...I just pray that he is making the right decision!! Right now he is under the Austin Diocese, which has like 49 Seminarians and will be switching over to the Ogdensburg Diocese, which has 4 seminarians....BIG DIFFERENCE!!! The Catholic Church in the East coast is mighty different than in the South! I just want him to be sure of his decision!! I told him to just keep praying!! He's concerned with starting at another Seminary with all new guys and worried about fitting in ok. He will make a GREAT priest...*IF* he can just get through seminary!!! He admits that it's difficult to live with so many different personalities....and seeing first hand that even seminarians have different opinions and egos to deal with!! I suggested that he just continue to pray that God make him the man that HE intended him to be!! To ask the Holy Spirit to give him the grace that he needs to get through the next few years!! It's hard for a 22 (he'll be 23 in March) to see that the next 5 years will be sooooooooooo small and go by sooooooooo fast...and that he really needs to focus on the years BEYOND seminary years. I know that's easier said than done...and I'm not the one who has to do what he has to do the next 5 years!!
I just love him and want him to be happy!! That's what Mom's do, right???
If anyone reads this...please keep Alex in your prayers!!
Everything is Grace!

Your welcome, I'm at the moment waiting for results for a Breast biopsy and just trying to keep my faith strong. I see you had some surgery and issues yourself, I hope that everything is going well with you?
